Terms and Conditions
Last updated: November 2, 2026
Evidence Link (evidence.li) is a cryptographic evidence service operated by Visionlight Productions Inc., Box 549, Rosenort, Manitoba, Canada R0G 1W0 (“Visionlight”, “we”, “us”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern Evidence Link as it is deployed and used. By accessing Evidence Link, receiving records through it, or relying on its exports, you agree to these Terms.
1. What Evidence Link is
Evidence Link seals records as they happen. For each record it keeps a timeline of events and the original artifacts behind them. Every event receives a SHA-256 fingerprint. Each fingerprint is chained to the one before it. The heads of the chains are gathered into checkpoints signed with Ed25519, and checkpoint fingerprints are anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain through OpenTimestamps. A record can be exported as a Case File: one file holding the events, the originals, the signed checkpoint, and an offline verifier that anyone can run without an account and without trusting us.
2. Current phase
Evidence Link is currently deployed exclusively with Outfielder, in a controlled validation phase. No public accounts, developer access, or external onboarding are offered in this phase. These Terms govern the service as deployed in this phase, and they will be updated before any broader availability.
3. What the evidence proves, and what it does not
The cryptography proves that the record you hold is the record that was sealed, complete and unaltered since sealing. It does not prove that the original observations recorded in a record were correct. Evidence Link is not a certification of anything, and nothing it produces is legal advice. Whether a record is relevant or admissible in any proceeding is a question for legal counsel.
4. Records and ownership
Records belong to their owners. Evidence is private by design: a record is visible only to its owner and the people the owner authorizes. Exports are scoped to the record owner, and every export is logged. History is append-only: corrections arrive as new events, never as edits to sealed events.
5. Signing keys
Our checkpoint signing keys are published on the Signing Key page so that anyone can verify a checkpoint signature independently, without asking us. Keys may be rotated as part of normal security practice. When a key is retired, it stays published on that page, marked as retired, so records signed with it remain verifiable.
6. Bitcoin anchoring
Only fingerprints ever leave our servers. Record content, artifacts, and personal information are never submitted to any timestamp service or blockchain. Checkpoint fingerprints are submitted to public OpenTimestamps calendars and anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain. How quickly an anchor confirms depends on the Bitcoin network and is outside our control.
7. Availability and changes
In this validation phase the service may change, and brief interruptions may occur for maintenance or security work. Checkpoint copies are stored outside the main database, so an interruption cannot quietly rewrite a sealed history. We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new date at the top, and the version posted here applies from that date.
8. No warranty and limitation of liability
We do not warrant that a record will produce any particular legal or business outcome. To the fullest extent allowed by the laws of Manitoba, our total liability arising out of Evidence Link is limited to the fees paid for the service that gave rise to the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or lost revenue. Nothing in these Terms limits a liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
